Training
During her time training at the Royal School of Needlework (RSN), Eve studied a wide range of techniques including goldwork, silk shading, raised work, needlepoint, both sides alike, blackwork embroidery, whitework embroidery as well as spending time in the RSN's embroidery studio, learning about restoration and conservation techniques. These are some of the pieces she created.
Artwork
Eve has a keen interest in creating embroidered landscapes and portraits. She was delighted to win the Worshipful Company of Borderers Associate Award at the Hand & Lock Prize 2025 for a triptych of embroideries following Birmingham’s historic canals. She decided to update traditional Blackwork embroidery patterns, which are often done in monotone colour threads, by adding some colour. Since then, she has continued to explore this technique in landscapes and portraits. If you are interested in having your own embroidered landscape or portrait please get in touch. Goldwork
Goldwork embroidery techniques have been used for centuries to adorn historic clothing, banners, badges, insignia and more. Today, it often can be seen on clothing and jewellery items and is beautiful on special gifts and ornaments. Whilst training at the RSN, Eve recieved the Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers Award for Excellence in Goldwork Embroidery. This prestigious Livery Company, with origins dating to the 17th century, promotes the craftsmanship of gold and silver wyre and continues to have links with these trades today. Since then, she has become a Trade Freeman of the Company. If you are interested in any commissions or projects which might involve goldwork embroidery, please get in contact.
